Fellow MGA Golfers,
Welcome to another exciting year of Tellico Village Men’s golf! I am honored to be your 2012 MGA president and I look forward to playing along with you on three of East Tennessee’s best courses here in Tellico Village.
In my past two years on the MGA board I have seen our membership numbers and our weekly participation grow. We have emphasized players’ individual games more so that our Player of the Year reflects points that were based more on his own scores rather than team scores. Last year’s honors went to Larry McJunkin in a closely fought competition decided on our final event – the Turkey shoot. Most exciting was our winning of the Lake Tellico Challenge Cup for only our 2nd time.
My goals for the 2012 MGA season include 1) retaining the Lake Tellico Cup, 2) continued excellence in fun weekly games and expansion of another Fun Day [4 total] with full fields, 3) improving our three marquee events – the Member/Member Tournament , the MGA Championship Tournament, and the Lake Tellico Challenge Cup. This year’s Board is up to that task as new Directors Larry McJunkin, Mick Gardner and Dave Pecot , along with existing Directors John Hoover, Paul Zorovich, Past Pres. Jim Foss and I are eagerly working on these projects.
